NORTH CAROLINA LOVES LINK WRAY!

In the last week, we have seen the Governor of North Carolina declare May 2 “Link Wray Day”, a Link Wray Music Festival and the unveiling of a historical marker in Dunn, and now the Band of Tribes (featuring Link’s grandson) is playing Link Wray music at the North Carolina Welcome Center on I-95!

HISTORICAL MARKER UNVEILED IN DUNN

On May 2, 2014 - what would have been his 85th birthday - the town of Dunn North Carolina recognized the father of rock guitar with the unveiling of a historical marker commemorating the birthplace of Link Wray.

This marker is located at the corner of East Duke Street and South Clinton Avenue, a couple blocks off US 301 and a few minutes off Interstate 95.
