2018 ROCK HALL INDUCTEES TO BE ANNOUNCED DECEMBER 13th!
Link’s first recording was released in 1956, making him eligible for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame BEFORE the first inductions in 1986. Few, if any, rock artists have been waiting longer for their rightful place in the Rock Hall.
“Who is Link Wray? Why should he be in the Rock Hall? How can I help get him there?”
The answers are below. Help spread the word. The man who gave rock and roll power chords and distortion is still on the outside looking in.
If you have any questions, need additional materials, or would like to speak to family members or music historians about Link Wray, please contact Greg Laxton.
It’s been a dream and a personal goal since Tim Johnson and I created the Smithsonian exhibit to get Link Wray into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I, along with Catherine Bainbridge and Christina Fon, hope that our film RUMBLE: THE INDIANS WHO ROCKED THE WORLD will help get it done. NO BACKING DOWN NOW!”
