LINK WRAY AT FISHLIPS - JULY 15, 2005

Intimate show

My wife even made it up to this show.  The Dust Devils started off the evening and were pretty good.  The club owner was cool enough to rent a 100 watt Marshal head and cab from Guitar Center for Link.

Alexander (a member of Link's July 05 touring band) opened the show on lead guitar with a different back up band - Link was not on stage yet.

The first tune was Miserlou, Alexander did on a good job double picking probably the toughest surf tune to nail. After a few more songs, a singer came out ( not sure of his name) to join in.  They played probably 7 - 9 Elvis / Sun Record type tunes also Secret Agent Man.  They were very entertaining.  After Alexander and the crew warmed up the crowd, Link made his way on stage and Alexander switched from guitar to bass.  Link tore through Rumble,  and the rest of his best; the amps were blaring and he seemed in a good mood.  He finished off in typical fashion...dropping his strat and leaving.  However he was encouraged by a cheering crowd to play Rumble again...he obliged.  We got back into to Los Angeles about 1:00 AM - we had a blast.
